Mission and Values

Etobicoke Historical Society is an informative and knowledgeable caretaker of the past.  A community-focused protector of heritage and a teller of the stories of our past to those in the present and future.

We Value...

  • The stories of the people and communities of the more recent and distant past.
  • Service to our community at large through the exchanging of ideas.
  • Connecting people with the past, present, and future of Etobicoke.
  • Being a repository of knowledge and catalyst for new ideas.
  • The diversity and dynamic nature of people of Etobicoke.

What Does EHS Do?

  • We preserve the legacy of our forbearers for future generations.
  • We keep the past alive by being a channel through which information from the past flows to those in the present and future.
  • We facilitate an exchange of information related to the history of Etobicoke and beyond.
  • We listen and take leadership on opportunities of an historic nature that are of benefit to the community.
