EHS Board Member Louise Mahood led two very successful historic walks on Saturday, September 6 for the Mimico Residents Association, in collaboration with the EHS. Louise gave participants some great historical background on Mimico and the former grand estate properties on the lakeshore.

The walk visited one of the former estate homes, Myrtle Villa, which still stands and is hidden behind low-rise apartments built in the 1950s.

This home was built in 1910 by Albert Ormsby and was called "Ormscliffe". Ormbsy later sold the property to James Franceschini in 1925 who renamed the estate "Myrtle Villa".

We hope to develop more neighbourhood walks in the future.
