ANNUAL MEETING

Well it is that time of the year again to get together
for our annual meeting. Our speaker will be Ted Wickson.
Some of you may remember that Ted delivered an interesting talk
about 150 Years of Public Transit to us, a couple of years ago.
This year he will be delivering a presentation called
TORONTO THEN AND NOW. It will be at our usual meeting place, The Franklin Horner Community Centre, 432 Horner Avenue,

Room 105, on Monday November 17th at 7 PM.

You are probably wondering why we did not meet in October. The answer is very simple. I have had a very difficult time lining up a speaker. Let's face it; no one wants to go to an annual meeting if there isn't a speaker. How hard could it be? Here are a few examples. One wanted a large amount of money to speak to us. Another had a death in the family and was still dealing with that. My favourite was the gentleman who was moving in November but he had to ask his wife. You could tell that he genuinely wanted to address us. When I talked to him later on, I advised him that we had found a speaker but maybe he could speak to us in January, once we got a few things straightened out. He was quite happy with that because he would be on paternity leave at that time! I wondered if he has shared that idea with his wife.
