ETOBICOKE HISTORICAL SOCIETY'S
50TH ANNIVERSARY 1958--2008

at Etobicoke's Museum Montgomery's Inn
Members gathering for the 50th Anniversary presentations


Our President, Denise Harris opened the meeting and announced

"The Etobicoke Historical Society is celebrating its
50th Anniversary
at this Monthly Speaker's Meeting.

Following a warm welcome from those in attendance, Denise went on to
welcome each and everyone for coming and
sharing this special night with us.  She went on to advise of the
accomplishments that each and every member had contributed
to making the Society what it is today.

Following her opening remarks she went on to introduced
our first speaker for the evening Randall Reid.

 Randall Reid of Montgomery's Inn presented a
very interesting slide show presentation on
"Dundas Street from Lambton Mills to Six Points",

Following Randall's presentation Denise went on to introduce
our second combined speakers for the evening Robert and Joyce Given.

Robert A. "Bob" Given,
a charter member of the Etobicoke Historical Society
(Author of "Etobicoke Remembered" published-2007)

and wife Joyce Given

They shared their amazing memories of
"The Founding of the Etobicoke Historical  Society"

Following their presentations, special anniversary refreshments followed and
Bob and Joyce Given were asked to cut the 50th Anniversary Cake.
All in attendance were asked to join in.
